Getting my groove .....

so today is day 8 of the pre op diet!! I SURVIVED!!!

I feel a massive sense of achievement today.. I did 4 days of the recommended 2 meal replacements and 1 protein serve and veggies and 3 of full meal replacements. The scales this morning were down yay yay yay... Loss of 2.9kg or 6.3LBS Thanks Goodness! All that hard work was not lost...

So this week going to back it up... hoping for another 3kg... Going to try for 3 workouts!

That's fantastic! Good on you :-)

Just be careful with the workouts - I found Optifast left me pretty weak.

That's really awesome - it sure isn't easy to do! I started my pre-op last Friday and as of today, I'm vaguely doing it now. I don't actually have a date and don't think I'll even get my insurance approval for probably another three weeks at least. So I decided I wasn't going to keep "eating" like that - my pre-op is the same as yours. Congratulations for sticking it through that rough spot 3-4 days in!

Some tricks I discovered that worked well to hold over hunger was to drink coffee, black, or hot tea. Both tricked my stomach, albeit for short periods of time. But it worked well. I also discovered chewing gum was a great thing to have around - saved the bad breath that resulted from ketosis and distracted me, too.

Keep it up - you are doing awesome - and you will blow away those 14kg!

Hi Katherine! I just found your blog. I am getting banded on 3/24...when is your date? You are doing great on the pre-op diet. I don't have do do one except for a few days before the surgery. I am very lucky!
